Not every one can be a leader - and not everyone is within the early childhood sector.  A manager is not necessarily a leader though in all likelihoods will be providing some leadership - knowingly or unknowingly. 

The material here looks at the leadership role of management and more specifically at professional leadership.  A professional leader may not be a 'manager' but is someone with responsibility for leading or providing support to the teaching team (or to the parent group) within a centre.
