Is all the Media Attention about ECE Funding Cutbacks Getting to the Education Minister?
An email update was sent out to media and organisations on the mailing list for the Education Portfolio this evening.
The email update contained two items:
- Felix Donnelly College to Close - with a link to a media release posting on 30 August 2010.
- Extra ECE Spending, Targeting Families in Need - with a link to the government's May Budget announcement posted on 19 May 2010.
Why was this second item included in the email update? Surely the inclusion of such an old posting wasn't an error.
One might think that in the face of protests about cutbacks in ECE funding for services with 80% or or more registered teachers, that this was a [sneaky?] [desperate?] [or easy?] way to remind reporters that the Government budget for ECE has increased.
