Commissioner for Children's Inquiry into the Non-Parental Care and Education of Children Under Two Years
Commissioner for Children's Inquiry into the Non-Parental Care and Education of Children Under Two Years
In February 2011 the Children's Commissioner launched a report of their inquiry into the non-parental education and care of infants and toddlers to employer representatives in the early childhood sector, child advocates, and other stakeholders. The report was to be released to the media at the same time, but due to the major earthquake in Christchurch that had just happened a decision was made by the Commission to delay releasing the report publicly to the media.
The report has now been publicly made available and is published on the Children's Commission website.

Below for ChildForum members only we provide an overview of the Commission's recommendations from the launch of the report.
