In recent years doing ‘research’ has gained popularity. Teachers are doing research. Undergraduates are doing research. Children are doing research. Bureaucrats are doing research. Research training, the completion of courses in research methodology and supervised research through a post-graduate degree programme of study is no longer the norm. But is all research that is claimed to be ‘research’ actually research?
