Overview

It's the last day of the school holidays and next week means getting back to structure and routine and lunch-boxes for many families. But for all the mums who haven't had a break there's good news ahead. Whisper the news to children and they will rush off to tell their dads, their teachers, and other family members that next Sunday is MOTHER'S DAY.  It's time to start preparing! See below for a link to our article on Mother's Day ideas for early childhood services and families.

We also bring you a couple of new items this week along with a number of notices of things which may be of interest.

Mother's Day

Mother's day is a very special day which dates back to a spring festival of the ancient Greeks dedicated to the maternal goddess, and to the ancient Romans, as well as to the early Christians who celebrated a mothering Sunday in honour of the Virgin Mary. To learn more about the tradition and for great ideas of ways that families, caregivers, and early childhood educators can help young children to mark this special day for their mother (or special person) click here ...
