National Early Childhood Management Forum (Sept 2011)

The 2nd National Early Childhood Management Forum was organised by the ChildForum Early Childhood Network.

It was held on  the 1st September 2011 in Wellington and attended by delegates from parent and teacher-led early childhood services, including centres and home-based services.

The producers of the Zip & Mac literacy and numeracy programmes provided us with great spot prizes and we are grateful to the NZ Playcentre Federation for providing some lovely books for spot prizes.

Below is a copy of the programme and a sample of the feedback received.

Sample of Feedback from the Day

"It's really good to hear from the people in the know directly. This demystifies the agencies considerably I think and builds relationship. It's harder to polarize with a real person".

"I most enjoyed the session on NZ Economy Update by Tony Alexander. The session was informative and drives home the fact that the ECE sector sits in the real economy. For too long, the ECE sector has been insulated and “live in a bubble”, in my opinion, leading to the teachers and management moving in different tangents and causing a lot of tension and misunderstanding in the sector.  It is also rare that an ECE forum will have this topic which is so necessary".

"Thank you for organising this and congratulations on a successful Forum".
