Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Education specialisation

  • 3 years full-time (up to 6 years part-time)
  • On-campus study at the Epsom Campus

Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Education – Pasifika specialisation

  • Particular focus on the education of under-five-year-old Pacific children
  • 3 years full-time (up to 6 years part-time)
  • On-campus study at the Epsom Campus
  • Study year  March - November


Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education)

  • This course is designed for people who already have a degree and who want an early childhood teaching qualification
  • The study requirements are equivalent to 1.25 years full-time study over 1 year of study
  • On campus study at the Epsom campus
  • A flexible option is also available for students anywhere in the country. Where possible, practicum (practical) placements will be in the regions where applicants live
  • Study year January – December
  • The academic prerequisite for the Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education) is a 360-point Bachelor's degree at Level 7 or a 240-point Master's degree at Level 9 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

Loved it! It was challenging, however it certainly made me a more reflective teacher. There is no resubmit for assignments so you really need to want to do well - not for the faint hearted.
