Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching)

  • 3 years full-time
  • Campus based classes and students are required to be working in an ECE service for 12 hours a week
  • February and July intakes
  • Study year: February - November
  • Locations:  Otara and Central Auckland

This full-time programme of study integrates theory and practice relevant to early childhood teaching. As a field based programme students work with children on a weekly basis to develop their capabilities and understanding of the complex role of an early childhood teacher.

The programme of study is three years in duration and involves campus-based classes. Students are required to be in a paid or unpaid position in a licensed early childhood centre for a minimum of 12 hours per week.

Each year there is one home centre practicum and one teaching practicum away from the 'home centre' totalling 20 full weeks'

Testimonials

  • Preschool Leader

Having heard a colleague talk about how useful she had found their material I joined. ChildForum's replies to my queries are prompt, extremely informative & with a genuine personal touch. I am impressed by the commitment to research & courage in tackling the hard issues like the risks of poor quality care for under 2s
