A subtle time shift can affect children's safety, behaviour and health.
In NZ daylight Saving starts on the last Sunday in September, when 2.00am becomes 3.00am.
It ends on the first Sunday in April, when 3.00am becomes 2.00am.
Losing (or gaining) an hour affects children's sleep patterns and emotions and behaviour through impacting on their circadian rhythms.
These are physical, mental and behavioural changes that follow a roughly 24-hour cycle.
