Can a child with HIV or AIDS be excluded from attending an early childhood service?
Below is a list of the diseases and conditions likely to be passed on to children and to have a detrimental effect on them. When a child or adult has one of these diseases or conditions the early childhood service must take all practicable steps to restrict children's contact with the person.
The risks along with the legal and health reasons why a child who is HIV-positive may attend an early childhood service are outlined.
