Wrap up and feedback
The 4th annual national ECE management forum was held following the Government Budget 2013 release.
All delegates who attended will tell you that you had to be there to pick up on much of the discussion and insight.
For ChildForum ECE Management Members, including service and institution members who could not attend we have asked presenters for copies of their notes where available and these are shown below. A number of questions asked by delegates are shown below also and where possible replies are provided.
Hon Paula Bennett was our first speaker. She was (like all our speakers during the day) very engaging and did not read from a pre-written speech. Paula discussed the reasons for making ECE use a social obligation, the work currently being done to prepare for policy implementation, and what the expectations for ECE services, managers and staff would be. The Minister’s speech expanded to other points (i.e. the White Paper for Vulnerable Children) which were not included in the speaking notes - so those who attended were fortunate to hear about this too. Paula's speech notes are already up on the ChildForum website and we will continue to add information from the Forum for our ECE service and institution members who missed it.
